Alzerina Gomes is a jewelry and clothing designer from Santo Antao, Cape Verde, she is now present in New York City, Los Angeles, Paris, and Cape Verde. She is also committed to helping underprivileged children in Cape Verde through education, mentorship, and scholarship programs. I worked as the Graphic Design Intern for summer 2023. Some of my responsibilities included designing flyers for upcoming trunk shows and social media platforms, designing images and assets for uplifting and motivational instagram stories, designing logos and an online catalog. This internship definitely  helped me grow as a designer while working under someone. I was able to work in a hands on environment and get real world experience working with a mentor. One of the biggest challenges I experienced during this internship was learning how to create content that would satisfy my mentor's expectations even when her design styles were different than what I was more used to. The main goals of this internship were to create daily social media stories, making flyers for her shows, and designing an online catalog of her Cabo Verde jewelry collection.
