Sukoon

INTRODUCTION

BRANDING, PROTOTYPE, STORY-TELLING, PACKAGING DESIGN

Sukoon is a brand I created to combat the struggles that come with transitioning to adulthood. Through this platform I aim to convey the narrative inspired by my personal journey of moving to a new city. My objective is to inspire people to keep going and to develop a safe space for them.

BACKGROUND

Growing up I experienced a hard time making friends and connecting with people because I felt very different than everyone else. I wanted to channel those feelings, especially the challenges of moving to a different city and going to college, into a brand that advocates for empathy as the basis for meaningful connections. Empathy is a great way to form deeper connections with one another. Being able to help each other and connect through bonding over common struggles is one way to get closer. I created a prototype for a simple card game that aims to bond people and discuss similarities and differences while letting out deep concerns and challenges and relieving some stress.

CARDS

This card game is for mindfulness and creating a sense of belonging, letting out any unwanted emotions, and possibly developing stronger bonds. I took inspiration from the game brand “We’re not Really Strangers” which is a card game to deepen existing relationships and also create new ones with prompts and questions to engage you.

There’s three categories: "Life”, “Relationships”, and “Friendships”.

LOGO/NAME

The logo is a symbol of a crane bird, because when I was younger I learned how to make paper crane origamis. I found a sense of calmness while making these cranes, and a crane is a perfect example for mindfulness. I chose the color earthy brown because it balances out the vibrancy of shocking pink, evoking this sense of calmness and renewal.

Sukoon means peace in my native language Urdu.
